countrysideLast weekend Nils, Mahdi and I went to Nils’ house in the countryside to among other things record some dialogue and sound for Campsite. We also played some games and recorded a new episode of our podcast. Of course I brought my camera and snapped a couple of pictures. I’ve uploaded two to the “People” album in my gallery, so go check them out!

It was a very foggy day today in Malmö so I went to the park and took some photos. Three of them turned out quite good and I’ve uploaded them to the gallery. Go check them out!

Last night the moon was at its shortest distance to the earth for 15 years. This event is called “perigee,” the moon’s closest approach to the Earth for the month as it moves along in its 28-day elliptical orbit of the Earth. In this case, that translates to about 256565 km. So I thought that it would be the perfect time to try out my new Sigma 70-300. I went out and took a couple of quick shots and I didn’t even need a tripod since it was so bright. This is what I ended up with. I’ve also uploaded the picture to my gallery.

I’ve added 5 new pictures to the gallery. Two are from my trip to Munich in late 2006, one’s from this past fall and two are from this christmas.

I’ve unfortunately had a cold for almost two weeks now so I haven’t been able to use my new 70-300/4-5,6 I got for christmas alot, but hopefully everything will be back to normal soon. I’m also looking to buy a macro lens though I haven’t decided which one yet so if you have any suggestions or recommendations please leave a comment.

See you later!

I’ve been really really busy at school so as you may have noticed the blog has been lacking new posts recently. One of the things I’ve been busy with have been the photography class at school where we had to interpret 10 different “themes”. I’m finally finished with it and I’ve uploaded all 10 pictures to the “
Photography class” album in the gallery. So go check it out!

Today I also received a new card to my cable box with some new channels on it. Unfortunately I’ve lost all the awesome foreign channels but I got a couple of new Swedish ones instead (more than I payed for actually), most of them sports channels. So now it time to go watch some football!

 See you later!

Today the Xbox 360 becomes a bit more like the Wii (why would they want to do this?) with the release of the NXE. This update gives people in the U.S. the ability to stream movies to their console using Netflix. Sony on the other hand who are famous for hating their (and everyone else’s) customers have decided to block all the films released by Columbia Pictures from playing on the Xbox. A big congratulations to Sony for once again choosing to destroy something others have created instead of trying to be innovative. Stay classy Sony!

Today at lunch the “milk dispenser” at school failed and the milk spilled out all over the floor. Fortunately I had my camera with me so I could take some pictures of it. I have to give them some credit for figuring out a clever way to clean it up (if you can call that cleaning it up).

Monday
Last Monday I went to listen to one of the world’s most famous journalists speak at the college here in Malmö. His name is Robert Fisk and he is the Middle East correspondent for the British newspaper The Independent. Unsurprisingly it was about the U.S. election and their role in the Middle East. I’m not going to get too political here so I’ll just say that it was quite interesting although he had some rather weird opinions about some things and for some reason he hated the Internet.

Tuesday
November 4th was the date of the U.S. election so I decided to defy sleep and stay up and watch CNN. I also tried to watch some of the coverage on Swedish television but it was terrible so I switched back to CNN. It was fun to see all the technology they used to cover everything even though some of it didn’t work perfectly and some of it was completely unnecessary - hologram anyone? Also I noticed that every time they went to Wolf Blitzer in the “situation room” they played fast paced music featuring alot of drums in the background like it was some kind of awesome action sequence in a movie. I realize now that staying up until 6 in the morning when you have to go to school at 8 wasn’t the best idea, but at least Obama won. Obama = Yay! Sleep deprivation = Nay!

Wednesday
Time for match 4 in the UEFA Champions League for Bayern, this time the return match against Fiorentina. Rensing played really good for once and made sure that Bayern could return from Italy with another point after a 1-1 draw. Though I still think that Bayern should get rid of him and buy the Russian international Igor Akinfeev.

Thursday
On Thursday me and Nils went out and took some pictures, a couple of them turned out quite good so I’ve uploaded them to the gallery. Go check them out!

Sunday
Big match in Germany, Schalke vs. Bayern. Ausverkauft at the Veltins arena in Gelsenkirchen as always and they got to see two goals in five minutes. I did not however. Thanks to the crappy Swedish cable provider Viasat I missed the first 13 minutes of the game. And when it finally started working this is how the picture looked. I want my money back!

Bayern (except for Ribéry) didn’t play very well but until Schalke decides to get some real strikers they shouldn’t be a problem for many teams in the league. Bayern won with 2 goals to 1 and is now only a single point away from Hoffenheim and Leverkusen.

This is all for now, see you later!
